An Inspiring role model, Dr. Pritam Singh has spent his entire life tirelessly doing what he does best: inspiring students, academia, corporate heads and policy makers to elevate their excellence. As the Chairman and member of several policy-making committees and bodies of Government of India, he has stamped his perspective on policy issues that surround both management education and corporate management in India.
He sits currently on the Board of 10 reputed private and public sector organizations helping them initiate the change process and charter a winning corporate strategy. As a consultant, Dr. Pritam Singh has worked with over 200 CEOs in India and abroad, and conducted more than 100 retreats for the top management of both private and public sector organizations as well as Multinational Corporations. He indeed, is the guru, the trainer, the coach, and the counselor at the Board and the Top Management level of the Indian Corporate World. With his entrepreneurial vision and path breaking innovative methods, Dr. Pritam Singh turnaround the fortunes of both MDI, where he was director 1994-1998 & 2003-2006) and IIM Lucknow (1998-2003). He also made notable contributions in re-orienting the foci of Administrative Staff College of India and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) where he worked as Dean and Senior Professor.
He headed IMI for a period of three years until October 2014 and during this period IMI improved tremendously in reputation and ranking. A thought leader with extraordinary insight, Dr. Singh is the author of seven academically reputed books, three of which are award winning. He is a globally sought after speaker and has addressed various Indian and global audiences including Chambers of Commerce in various countries, notably Holland, France, Germany, Greece, Russia, UK, USA, etc. Dr. Singh has been the member and the Chairman of some important Government Committees such as:
- Member 6th Pay commission for NIT’s, IIT’s, IIM’s.
- Member Banking Selection Board for selecting CMDs and Executive Directors.
- Member of the Tenth Five Year Plan for Higher Education.
- Chairman of the Sub-committee, Institutional Management and Leadership Development in Higher Education by the Planning Commission for the 12th Five – Year Plan (2012-2017).
- Member of the Search Committee for Selection of non-official Directors on the Boards of Central Public Sector Enterprises.
- Member DOPT Committee leadership building for IAS Officers.
- Member Ministry of Home Affairs Committee for capacity building of IPS Officers.
- Member of the Search Committees for the selection of the Vice Chancellors and Directors.
His distinguished services were acknowledged by the country when he was conferred with the prestigious ‘Padma Shri’ by the President of India. It was for the first time that any Professor and a serving Director in India received this coveted award in the field of “MANAGEMENT EDUCATION”.
